Colour Fun Run

Students at the colour fun run

On Friday 21 September Year 11 and 12 Woonona High School students held a “Colour Fun Run” in aid of our drought stricken farmers.

It was a perfect day for some fun! Our Year 11 and 12 students started the day with a 5 hour marathon of laps around the school oval before a lunch time BBQ for the whole school.

After lunch the real colour fun began with students from other years joining in for the sea of “colour” that was to became our school oval. Participating students wore white fun run t-shirts and took to the oval where staff were on hand to spray them with fluoro paints, transforming them into a bright  sea of colour.

As a school we are donating $3000 which means we can purchase 44 thousand litres of water and donate over 20 bales of hay to the farmers.

This was an absolutely outstanding effort and many thanks must go to organiser Mr DeMain and his many helpers.

We would like to thank Bakers Delight  in Corrimal and Bulli for donating the bread for the sausage sizzle.

Press from the Illawarra Mercury visited the school and took some amazing photos of our colour fun run, one of which is shown above.
