Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of creative writing, essay and poetry competitions.
Each year students have the opportunity to enter the "Dorothea McKellar Poetry Competition" as well as the "What Matters" writing competition organised through the Whitlam Institute. We will also support our local community through entering student writing into a Northern Illawarra Creative Writing competition sponsored by the Thirroul Festival.
In recent years Year 10 students have had the opportunity to enter an essay writing competition sponsored by the Woonona Bowling Club. Students also enter the International Women's Day essay competition and the "Endeavour Day" competition and in 2017 the students were awarded prizes.
