All students have the opportunity to develop their musical abilities and potential at Woonona High School. Year 7 and 8 study the Mandatory Music course and we also offer Elective Music courses in Years 8-12. In the senior years, students have the option of studying Music 1 or Music 2 for the HSC.

Woonona High School is proud to offer the following Music and Music-related courses for students to study:

  • Year 7 Mandatory Music

  • Year 8 Interest Elective: Technology of Music
  • Year 8 Interest Elective: Film and Film Making
  • Year 9 Elective Music
  • Year 9/10 Theatre Studies (encompassing aspects from the Drama and Entertainment Industry Syllabus)
  • Year 10 Elective Music
  • Year 11 Preliminary Elective Music
  • Year 12 HSC Elective Music

CAPA Enrichment Class

In Year 6, students are able to apply for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Enrichment Class, which allows Year 7 students to develop their interest and skills in Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts further.
