Welcome to Woonona High School — a comprehensive co-educational school proudly serving the Woonona community.

Learning at Woonona extends far beyond the classroom. Our dynamic co-curricular program provides opportunities for students to develop creativity, teamwork, leadership and confidence through music, dance, debating, academic competitions, chess and sport. We are particularly proud of our culture of service and contribution, with students regularly recognised at high levels for their outstanding volunteering efforts.

Student voice and leadership are central to our school culture. Through our active Student Representative Council and a wide range of leadership opportunities, students are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to school life and develop the confidence to lead others.

Woonona High School also has a proud tradition of sporting excellence, with students recently representing both NSW and Australia in Oztag, Basketball, Kayaking, Baseball, Hockey and Cricket. Alongside achievement, we place strong emphasis on participation, wellbeing and healthy, active lifestyles.

Harvard Principals Scholarship

We are proud to acknowledge our wonderful Principal Ms Caroline David who was last night awarded the prestigious Harvard Principals Scholarship at the Public Education Foundation Awards.

This year only four Principals in Australia were awarded this Scholarship.

Ms David's dedication to our school and Public Education clearly shines through her passion and belief that every child who comes through our doors has access to a world-class education.

"I believe that is what a democratic society owes its people. This scholarship gives me the opportunity to connect with research and with principals around the world who are grappling with the same questions we are, and to bring that thinking back to our community.”

This scholarship will provide Ms David with the opportunity to travel to Harvard University in Boston to connect with a worldwide leadership group.

Thank you to the Public Education Foundation Ltd, Harvard Club of Australia, and Teachers Mutual Bank for this amazing opportunity for Ms David and for our school.
